Cosmetic tattooing is a semi-permanent treatment used  to produce the appearance of hair strokes, makeup, or to enhance the natural features of the face. Cosmetic Tattoo Treatments that we offer at Bystella skin clinic include micro-blading, soft powder shading or ‘ombre’ brows,  Eyeliner and natural lip blush treatments for that perfect pout. All of our equipment is sterilised in a medical grade autoclave or is disposable to prevent any cross contamination during treatments.

Allow up to 3-4 hours on your first session,
up to 1.5 hours on your Touch Up (second) session and
up to 2 hours for your Colour Maintenance

Sun exposure: The sun will extremely soften the look of your tattoo, so a physical sunscreen should be used (once healed) to prolong your enhancement.

The regeneration of skin cells: The longer the regeneration takes, the longer the pigment holds.The speed at which the skin absorbs the pigment: The slower the absorption, the longer the pigment will hold.

The choice of pigment colour: Some colours may fade quicker than others, e.g. a blonde pigment may fade quicker than a dark brunette pigment.

Bleeding during the procedure: Any bleeding during the tattooing procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption. Caffeine, alcohol, and certain medications act as blood-thinners and should avoided 48 hours prior to your appointment.

THIS DEPENDS ON THE CLIENT’S EXISTING BROW HAIRS! AT THE BEGINNING OF EVERY APPOINTMENT THERE IS A CONSULTATION. YOUR BROW ARTIST WILL DISCUSS WHICH METHOD IS MOST NATURAL FOR YOU.

AGAIN, THIS DEPENDS ON THE CLIENT’S EXISTING BROW HAIRS, SKIN TYPE, ETC.

YOU ARE INELIGIBLE FOR BROW SERVICES IF YOU ARE:

- PREGNANT, BREAST FEEDING.

- DIABETIC.

-  IF YOU HAVE GLAUCOMA, SKIN DISEASES, KELOID DISORDER,

- HIV/HEPATITIS.

- SKIN CANCER OR IF YOU’RE TAKING SKIN MEDICATIONS LIKE STEROIDS.

- YOU MUST ALSO BE 18+. 

EVERY BRAND NEW SET OF BROWS REQUIRE TWO SESSIONS TO BE COMPLETE AND ACHIEVE THE DESIRED. THE FIRST SESSION IS THE INITIAL APPOINTMENT AND THE SECOND SESSION IS THE FIRST TOUCH UP.

TOUCH UP SHOULD BE AT LEAST 6-8 WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST INITIAL SESSION, ONCE THE BROWS ARE FULLY HEALED.

A strong topical anaesthetic cream and gel are used for numbing the area during your procedure.It is important to us that your experience is as comfortable and pain free as possible. Everyone’s pain threshold varies and can also be affected by your personal circumstances such as stress level or menstrual cycle. Even a recent cold or flu, which may have stressed your immune system, can impact your procedure. If this is the case small amounts of discomfort are to be expected.

Cosmetic tattoos are low maintenance, but you do have to maintain them!

Think of your hair… if you have been colouring them, you should know that  the tint/dye/toner needs to be refreshed every now and then to look at its best. Same thing apply to your Permanent Make Up.

“Touch up” may be required anywhere from 6 months up to 24 months after the last treatment. At the very least I suggest that my clients have a refresh treatment every year to keep their makeup tattoo looking at its best.  Some clients are happy to let their Cosmetic Tattoo fade considerably between Colour Maintenance treatments, others like to keep them looking very bold and fresh all the time. For this reason no guarantees are offered or implied in regards to how long your cosmetic tattoo will last before you feel you need to have a touch up.
