Lip Blush

Lip blushing is a semi-permanent lip tattoo cosmetic procedure (permanent makeup) that can give you the perfect pout. Lip tattoos are an innovative treatment that can enhance the natural appearance of your lips, such as improving shape, increasing volume, correcting asymmetry, improving colour or creating the illusion of fuller lips. There’s an option available for just about any shade you can imagine! This guide will show you what to expect before, during, and after your blush cosmetic tattoo lips treatment.

Lip Blush

Lip blush is very natural and with results lasting around 2-5 years, clients are asking themselves why they didn’t do it sooner! Colours are 100% customised to suit each individual at their appointment.

The benefits of lip tattooing are countless; it is a lovely way to restore colour in the lips or match your favourite lip balm! It is also great for redefining the lip border for anyone who has experienced a loss of definition due to lip fillers, ageing, smoking or scarring. The treatment is painless and healing time is less than a week!

*Lips in image are immediately after treatment and will soften and fade approx 50% to leave a beautiful tint of colour!

Lip blushing is NOT for everyone. Please read the contraindications carefully. If any of the following apply to you, this procedure is not recommended...

  • You are a smoker (pigment may not retain properly, colors may distort). ...If you have a history of MRSA

  • You have psoriasis in the treatment area.

  • You have an auto-immune disease.

  • You have thyroid/graves disease (medication may cause pigment to not retain properly). ...You have anemia (pigment may not retain properly).

  • You have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring.

  • You are currently undergoing chemotherapy.

  • You are pregnant or nursing. (You cannot have this service. No exceptions.)

  • You have Diabetes type 1 or 2 (due to slow healing and infection, color may or may not retain well).

  • If you are under a doctor’s care and have questions at ALL about being able to have this procedure, it is your responsibility to meet with your doctor and get written approval.

  • If you are prone to cold sores.

** Please note.... even if none of the above apply, lip blushing cannot be guaranteed. This is a cosmetic tattooing procedure, the skin can be unpredictable, it is up to your skin to retain the pigment. Generally, results are successful, however, due to skin type, healing or bleeding during procedure, some results can differ*

Aftercare Instructions

  • For 5 days after procedure: DRINK THROUGH A CLEAN STRAW, NO KISSING, NO SPICY OR HOT FOOD, NO LIPSTICK

  • Use directed aftercare ointment on the lip area at least 2x a day.

  • Keep your lips clean and hydrated with the after care provided and if you suffer from cold sores please use your cold sore cream along with the aftercare.

  • Immediately after the treatment, your lips will appear swollen and much brighter than they will look once healed. The colour will subside over the next week and once the lips peel, the pigment will fade to almost no colour for then reappearing about 4 weeks later.

  • No Swimming pools, hot tubs, or any body of water or Exposure to the sun or tanning beds for 4 weeks.

  • For Lip Neutralisation this process usually takes 10 weeks. After the lips finish peeling, they often look darker for a week or two. This is completely normal and it will pass. Please trust the process. True colour will appear around week 10.

  • Do not use exfoliating products, retinol acids, or AHA;s on the area for 30 days.

  • DO NOT pick scabs once they start peeling or else you will rip off your skin and cause infection. Let them exfoliate naturally.

  • No fillers or anti-wrinkle injections such as Restylane or Botox on or near the treated areas 2 weeks before or after treatment.
PLEASE NOTE THAT FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS COULD JEOPARDISE THE HEALING PROCESS OF YOUR TATTOO WHICH COULD LEAD TO POOR COLOUR RETENTION AND INFECTION.

  • A week prior to your appointment stay hydrated. Exfoliate your lips and keep lips moisturized.

  • Please wait 2 weeks  after lip blush to receive fillers. (or 2 weeks prior) Lip Blush and Lip Filler are actually an amazing combo together. While Lip Filler gives you outward volume, Lip Blush gives you definition, color, and a subtle natural appearing size increase just by making the most of the lip tissue you were born with.

  • No caffeine 24 hours, do not drink alcohol or take blood thinning medication 24 hours before appointment.

  • Take a break from vitamin c serums, retinoids, and glycolic treatments, and chemical peels at least 2 weeks prior to your session and 2 weeks after.

  • If you suffer from cold sores (even just once) you must take an anti viral medication (like Valtrex) 2-3 days before, and 3-5 days after having your lips tattooed.

  • Please wait 6 months after using Acutane to receive lip blush tattoo.

  • Laser Treatments must be done 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after Lip Blush Tattoo.

Failure to follow instructions may result in cancellation of appointment or you will need multiple touchups to. Achieve the results you want.
